About Boldly Go

Go big. Go bold.

We help today’s changemakers double down on impact, not infrastructure.

Who we are

Led by former foundation CEOs, we bring innovative strategies, practical approaches, trusted advice, and world-class programmatic support to philanthropists, foundations, corporate givers, wealth advisors, and community foundations — rigorously managing execution, navigating board and family dynamics, and powering their ability to solve social issues and address inequities.

Leaders

Our founders led major foundations — the Walton Family Foundation and Peter Kiewit Foundation — where they oversaw hundreds of millions of dollars in grants and impact investments, managed complex family and board dynamics, launched and led large-scale philanthropic initiatives, and were held accountable for results.

Advisors

We have worked at and led major consulting firms where we advised foundation leaders and trustees, high net worth individuals and families, corporate CEOs, and nonprofit executives on philanthropic effectiveness, strategy, evaluation, multi-generational giving, and issues such as education, the environment, health, economic opportunity, and racial equity.

doers

We have been nonprofit leaders, teachers, and volunteers – working in inner-city neighborhoods and rural towns and villages. We have created change on the ground, and experienced the systemic barriers that hold people back from success.

why it’s time to be bold

We are living in unprecedented times. The COVID-19 pandemic, economic turmoil, a national reckoning on race, and long-standing inequities compel us to take action. We believe philanthropy is uniquely positioned to take on these tough problems, and that there is a growing desire among those with resources to step up, do more, be bolder, and act with greater urgency. The events of 2020 could trigger the greatest release of creative philanthropy we’ve ever seen and we are ready to provide philanthropists with the support they need to have outsized impact.

what We believe

  • Our toughest problems and deepest inequities demand bold solutions.
  • The best solutions come from being inclusive of those closest to the problem.
  • Philanthropy should be unleashed to meet the urgent needs of today.
  • Transformative change can be accomplished through smart grants and impact investments, meaningful collaboration, courageous advocacy, and movement building.
  • Philanthropy should focus on impact, not on administration.
  • Today’s changemakers have unprecedented opportunity to punch above their weight.
